Hospital Honor Roll | Banfield
The original hospital honor roll was a 4-6 page printed piece that was sent to over 1000 hospitals on a weekly basis. The information provided was outdated and no longer relevant to hospitals. The process of sending the data through multiple teams to get designed was also tediuous. When I asked why were still sending the document, the answer was “because we’ve always been doing it this way.” I championed the idea, socialized, and garnered support to create a digital version. I gathered a cross-functional team including IT, Internal Communications, HRIS, and Operations to make a dream a reality.
Celebrating employees by creating connection, friendly gamification, and reinforcing company objectives.
Process
Working with Operations and Internal Communications team to make sure the correct OGSM measurements were in place, I built a wireframe. The developer then created a technical analysis which we reviewed to make sure the data was possible to retrieve with the help of HRIS and reflected properly in my final screen.
It was important to me to make sure the hospital associates found this page useful and stayed at the heart of what I designed. I made sure to include the current objective measurements, used bright fun colors for the friendly competition to motivate hospitals to excel, and created a section to celebrate the top performing hospitals. I included a resource section for hospitals to community resources and relevant links.
By automating the weekly Hospital Honor Roll we made it relevant by reinforcing business priorities and celebrating hospital achievements while saving time and resources. After the page was built, the only thing needed was a tiny data file dropped by HRIS seamlessly integrating the solution into existing systems.
My Role
Asked questions and led the project from beginning to completion. Socialized the idea with leadership for project approval. Built the team pulling in cross-functional members and leadership when necessary. Partnered closely with HRIS and the developer to ensure data collection was possible and reflected business objectives. Worked with the communications team to create a plan for launch.
